- Have
a selection of clothing on hand for your session. Since you’re
planning at least one look bring more than five options so we can
pick and choose what suits you the best on camera. Think about
different necklines (crewneck, mockneck, v-neck, shrug) and textures
when selecting garments. Avoid white! Bring some of your favorite
clothes that make you feel the most comfortable.
- Women should bring a selection of earrings and
accessories. Nails should be manicured and polished with a neutral
nail color. Men should make sure their hands are moisturized.
- Haircuts should have at least one week to settle
down. If your hair is colored or highlighted, please make sure that you have recently
had your roots done. Hair should be clean. Women who require a curly
set look should arrive with their hair already curled or in rollers.
- Women planning on using our make-up services should come in clean faced wearing no
make-up. Darker skinned models should bring their own base to insure
a proper match. Clean up eyebrows the day before. Facials should be
done a week prior to the shoot.
- Clients planning on full length pictures should come prepared with
shoes, accessories and props. Women
should bring several shades of stockings. Additionally, it is
helpful to tear out pictures from
recent publications that you find interesting and represent the
image you are looking to project. This will help determine the scope of your session
with Butler Photography.
- If you wear contact lenses bring your case and
wetting solution - sometimes the lights or make-up will make your
eyes red. It helps to take them out for 10-15 minutes.
- Wear a shirt that buttons down the front so you
can try on clothes while your hair is still in rollers.
- Be
comfortable from the waist down - you will be sitting for several
hours.
- Bring
something to snack on. Small bite sized pieces that can be placed in
your mouth - nothing that you bite into!
- Plan on spending at least 2½ hours working with
Butler Studio.
- Call the day before your appointment to
re-confirm with us that everything is a go.
- Drink lots of water and rest up!
Don’ts:
- Sit
out in the sun.
- Clean
your face with abrasive cleaners on the day of the shoot.
- Arrive
with the whole family. However, chaperones are encouraged.
- Party
the night before and expect us to do miracles.
- Leave after your appointment without scheduling
to receive your pictures.
